My name is Yizhou, and I am a PhD student at MechE, MIT, working with Prof. Jeff Gore. I am fascinated by the concept of “emergence” - how complex phenomena like life and intelligence arise from simpler components. My approach is to use physics methods to transform these intuitive ideas into something solid. Currently, my research focuses on the physics of AI, e.g., the emergence of neural scaling laws.
