Tom Swartz, Chief Technology Officer

Tom Swartz is a technology and business transformation executive with more than 30 years of experience building high-performance organizations, modernizing enterprise systems, and enabling growth through digital innovation. Throughout his career, he has strengthened enterprise value by developing strong leadership teams, advancing cybersecurity and infrastructure capabilities, and delivering scalable solutions that improve operational performance and customer outcomes.

Swartz is the Chief Technology Officer of Voltava, formed in December 2025. In this role, he leads the company’s global technology strategy, including information technology, cybersecurity, data and analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. He plays a key leadership role in integrating legacy organizations, standardizing systems, and building the digital capabilities needed to support Voltava’s customers and future growth.

Voltava employs approximately 5,500 people across 21 global locations, positioning the company to serve OEM partners worldwide.

Prior to Voltava, he served as CTO for Detroit Manufacturing Systems. He previously served as Executive Director of Advanced Engineering & Systems at DMS where he led advanced engineering, enterprise systems, and technology initiatives that enhanced manufacturing performance and operational scalability.

Earlier in his career, Swartz held leadership positions with International Automotive Components, where he served as Director of Engineering, Global Strategies and Standards. In that role, he led a broad portfolio of engineering and operational initiatives focused on growth, profitability, and enterprise standardization across global operations.

Swartz holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Ferris State University. He also earned certification from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy, along with Six Sigma Champion Training.

Tom is married and the father of two. He enjoys time with his family, running, podcasts, music, and travel.
