About Suzanne
Dr. Suzanne B. O'Keeffe is a Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Special Education at Sonoma State University. With more than 30 years of experience in the field of special education, she has served in a variety of roles supporting multilingual learners with and without disabilities. Her commitment to educational equity was shaped by her experience teaching in a special education program serving emergent bilingual students with diverse learning needs, an experience that continues to inform both her teaching and research. Building on this foundation, her current research explores the intersection of artificial intelligence, accessibility, workforce development, and equitable learning through a human-centered lens. Whether she is teaching children, preparing future educators, or collaborating with organizational leaders, Dr. O'Keeffe strives to create learning communities that foster collaborative inquiry, cultural responsiveness, academic rigor, critical thinking, and self-reflection.
