Dr. Sam Siewert is a Professor of Computer Science at California State University and an Associate Professor Adjunct of Computer Engineering at University of Colorado. He has a B.S. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from University of Notre Dame and M.S., Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Colorado. He worked in the computer engineering industry for twenty-four years before starting an academic career in 2012. Dr. Siewert spent half of this time on NASA astronautics and deep space exploration programs and the next half on commercial product development for high performance computing and networking. Research interests include computer vision, sensor fusion, machine learning, and real-time and interactive systems. Dr. Siewert is a co-founder of the Embedded Systems Engineering graduate program at the University of Colorado and is the Computer Science graduate curriculum committee chair at California State University Chico.
