About Roy
After earning three Bachelor’s degrees and a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Mr. Lim Long Hei Roy began his career as a programmer in the United States, where he gained four years of hands-on experience in software development and automation technologies.
In 2011, Mr. Lim returned to Hong Kong to join Tung Hing Automation, where he restructured the company’s technical operations, increased R&D investment, and spearheaded its transition toward advanced automation. Under his leadership, Tung Hing developed several innovative products, including a patented pressure-controlled polishing system and AI-driven manufacturing robots, which solidified its reputation for technological excellence.
In 2012, Mr. Lim founded L2F Inc., a high-tech system integration firm specializing in advanced automation solutions. Within three years, L2F’s revenue grew seventeenfold through major contracts with Tesla, SpaceX, and Apple. In 2017, L2F was acquired by Middleby Corporation—the largest food machinery company in the U.S.—for nearly HK$100 million, after which Mr. Lim was appointed Chief Representative for the Asia-Pacific region.
Building on his passion for robotics and healthcare innovation, Mr. Lim invested in HandyRehab, a rehabilitative robotic hand achieving up to 90% recovery in stroke patients’ mobility. In 2018, he founded Robocore, a robotics solutions company that has become a global leader in service and healthcare robots. Robocore’s acquisition of Israeli robotics firm Temi enabled the development of an integrated ecosystem of open-platform robots, universal elevator interfaces, and management systems, resulting in sales of over 15,000 robots across 33 countries. In 2025, Robocore Temi raised US$30 million in a Foxconn-led round, bringing its total funding to over US$140 million.
Mr. Lim currently serves as Vice President of the Young Industrialist Council of Hong Kong, Vice Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Alliance, Vice Chairman of the Youth Executive Council of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, an Executive Committee Member of the Hong Kong Automation and Technology Council, and a panel member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Innovation and Technology Advisory Board.
