Dr. Peter McCaffrey, MD, MS, FCAP, is VP, Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), where he leads AI strategy and implementation across clinical, research, and operational domains and as Co-Chair of the University of Texas System AI Collaborative. Dr. McCaffrey earned his MD from Johns Hopkins, completed his residency and chief residency in Clinical Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Data Science from Stanford University. His work focuses on integrating AI into healthcare.
