Marcus Spillane is Senior Vice President of Innovation, where he leads HHX, the Innovation Hub at Howard Hughes. He oversees the company’s innovation strategy and is responsible for leveraging emerging technologies to strengthen the company’s main business lines.

Prior to joining Howard Hughes Mr. Spillane was a 5-time founder, a startup advisor and angel investor. With a keen eye for spotting emerging technologies and leveraging them for business growth he has worked extensively with startups to develop and commercialize innovations in areas like blockchain, fintech, and web3.

With over 25 years of diverse experience, he has held numerous roles including the head of business development at a fintech startup pioneering a blockchain platform for corporate bonds, managed the acquisition and operation of a major heavy civil engineering firm in the UK and successfully co-founded a unified communications enterprise which he sold in 2021.

Mr. Spillane holds a B. Comm from University College Cork and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
