About Maggie

Dr. Maggie Mosher is a pioneer at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality (XR), student goal attainment, and educational innovation. Currently serving as the Chief AI Consultant for the Center for Reimagining Education and an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Kansas, she leads national efforts to integrate AI into K-12 and higher education systems. As an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University, she develops and instructs advanced graduate coursework on strategic design, Unity, C#, and AI integration for enterprise XR applications.

Armed with a Ph.D. from the nation’s #1 ranked Special Education program, Dr. Mosher bridges the gap between high-level technological innovation and practical learning realities. As a Co-Principal Investigator managing over $11 million in grant funding, she has spearheaded groundbreaking XR assessment and instructional methods. Her flagship program, VOISS, utilizes immersive XR scenarios to deliver real-time, individualized instruction across nearly 200 social skills across 123 VR scenarios, scaling accessible, evidence-based interventions for neurodiverse learners globally.

Dr. Mosher’s expertise is grounded in over two decades of front-line educational leadership, ranging from an award-winning special education teacher to an Assistant Principal and district technology trainer. Because she has trained educators across 60 domestic school districts and 12 international municipalities, she possesses a rare, deep-rooted understanding of the systemic barriers to technology adoption. Today, she uses that insight to co-create AI professional credentialing pathways, advising schools, universities, and businesses on how to move beyond theoretical AI to scale ethical, universally designed, and personalized instructional frameworks.

A highly sought-after global thought leader, Dr. Mosher has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and delivered over 100 presentations, including over 65 invited keynotes. Her transformative work has been honored by the American Academy of Achievement, L'Oréal Women in Science, and the International Science and Engineering Society. Recognized as a William E. Simon Fellow and a State of Kansas Horizon Award winner, she has collaborated on sustainable technology and educational panels with prominent figures, including visionary filmmaker George Lucas, Nobel Laureate Baruch Blumberg, and Dr. Ben Carson.

Whether organizing international outreach missions for hundreds of university students or designing the future of spatial computing, Dr. Mosher remains fiercely dedicated to a single mission: developing ethical, evidence-based AI and XR strategies that build communities of respect, collaboration, and opportunity for all learners.
