About Leah

Leah Fricke (MBA, LLB (Hons), BA, FCIS, FGIA, FAICD, TFASFA) is an Australian Non-Executive Director and Audit & Risk Committee Chair whose current board portfolio spans icare NSW, ColCap Financial, Openmarkets Group and Forager Funds Management.

She is recognised for her work at the intersection of technology, governance and emerging risk, and, for how boards make decisions about artificial intelligence and technology investment. Her view is that AI is not a technology decision but a capital-allocation decision made under uncertainty: the value of any AI investment depends on an organisation's strategy, risk appetite and the returns it is genuinely trying to create. Leah's career combines executive operational leadership with contemporary board oversight across listed, regulated, government and high-growth organisations undergoing transformation and scale. Her experience spans financial services, insurance, funds management, fintech and regtech; technology, data analytics, AI and digital platforms; renewable energy; and health, government and the public sector. She works with boards and executive teams on growth and scaling strategy, capital markets and funding, digital transformation and technology investment, cyber resilience and operational risk, and complex transactions including listings, capital raisings and acquisitions.

A former Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Company Secretary, she chairs and serves on audit and risk committees across financial services, insurance, health and renewable-energy. She is also Founder and Principal Coach of BoardCraft, an invitation-only governance coaching program for CFOs, Company Secretaries, CROs, General Counsel and other C-suite executives in board-facing roles. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Sydney. She has undertaken executive study in Cybersecurity and AI: Business Strategy at the MIT Sloan School of Management and Innovation Governance for Directors at DeGroote Business School/Directors College (Canada), and is currently completing the INSEAD International Directors Programme. She is a member of the Japan Board Directors Network and a graduate of the Japan Board Director Training Institute.

Leah is particularly focused on the implications of AI, digital infrastructure and changing market expectations for boards and leadership teams and on keeping human judgment and accountability at the centre of the decisions that create long-term value.
