About Kitty
Dr. Kitty Kay Chan is Professor of Practice at Columbia University where she teaches machine learning and other data science technique. An internationally recognized expert in the governance and oversight of artificial intelligence, she advises regulators, Fortune Global 500 companies, non-profits, and international organizations. Her career has spanned state and federal government as well as the private sector and academia. Before joining Columbia, Dr. Chan held several senior executive positions, including as the inaugural Chief Data Analytics Officer for the State of New York, as well as Chief Economist of the Department of Financial Services and the state’s Deputy Inspector General. She currently serves on multiple federal, state, corporate, and nonprofit advisory and governing boards across a range of industries including financial services, technology, and transportation.
