About Kari
Kari McCoy is a non profit leader, AI literacy strategist, and doctoral researcher dedicated to helping organizations move from uncertainty to confident, responsible AI adoption. With more than a decade of experience spanning K–12 education, California Community Colleges, nonprofits, and workforce development, she helps leaders build the knowledge and confidence needed to integrate artificial intelligence into their organizations.
Kari serves as a Veterans and Career Counselor at College of the Canyons and Antelope Valley College, where she combines student success, career development, and emerging technology to prepare learners for the future of work. She is an AI Literacy Instructor, a Digital Equity Doctoral Fellow, and a member of the California State University Generative AI Task Force. Her doctoral research focuses on AI literacy integration.
A recognized civic leader, Kari is the 2026 JCI USA Ten Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA) Honoree and has received numerous awards for leadership, innovation, and community impact. She is also the founder of the LEAP Children's Museum initiative and has created award-winning community programs focused on financial literacy, civic engagement, and veteran support. Through practical strategies, real-world examples, and an engaging presentation style, Kari helps executives, educators, government leaders, and nonprofit professionals understand not just what AI can do, but how to lead people through the cultural shift that AI represents.
