Julie Mitchell is the Director of Robotic Sortation Technology at Amazon Robotics, where she leads the development of advanced automation solutions that enhance safety, speed, and efficiency across Amazon's global fulfillment network. Her current focus is applying AI to simplify the usability, diagnosability, and maintainability of complex robotic systems at scale. Prior to joining Amazon, she built next-generation compute servers powering Oracle's cloud infrastructure. A certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Julie holds an M.S. in Management from MIT's Sloan School of Management, an M.S. in Systems Engineering from MIT, an M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University, and a B.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University. Originally from the Boston area, Julie lives just north of the city with her husband and two children.
