About Joshua
I’m Joshua Bernal, Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Traxión, the largest publicly traded transportation and logistics company in Mexico and one of the largest in Latin America. I lead the company’s enterprise technology strategy, digital transformation initiatives, and Artificial Intelligence programs, helping shape how technology drives operational excellence across a large and complex logistics ecosystem.
Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about using technology to solve real business problems. Rather than viewing AI as just another technology trend, I see it as an opportunity to fundamentally change how organizations make decisions, collaborate, and operate at scale.
My work focuses on designing and implementing enterprise platforms that connect people, processes, and data across multiple business domains. I’ve led initiatives involving enterprise architecture, software engineering, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, data governance, analytics, automation, and Artificial Intelligence, always with the goal of creating technology that delivers measurable business value.
One of the challenges I encounter most often is that organizations have more data than ever before, yet making timely, confident decisions remains surprisingly difficult. Valuable information is frequently scattered across disconnected systems, buried in reports, or locked behind technical barriers that prevent business users from accessing the insights they need.
That challenge has shaped much of my work over the last several years. I’m particularly interested in how AI can bridge the gap between enterprise data and operational decision-making through conversational interfaces, specialized AI agents, modern data architectures, and trusted governance models. I believe the future of enterprise software isn’t about creating more dashboards—it’s about enabling organizations to interact with their business knowledge naturally, ask better questions, and receive intelligent, contextual answers in real time.
As CIO, I work closely with executive leadership, operational teams, and technology organizations to ensure that innovation is practical, scalable, secure, and aligned with strategic business objectives. My philosophy has always been that technology should simplify complexity, empower people, and help organizations make better decisions—not simply generate more information.
At Ai4 Las Vegas, I’ll be presenting "The Last Mile of Data: How AI Turns Enterprise Data Into Decisions," where I’ll share practical lessons from applying AI within one of the region’s largest transportation and logistics organizations. We’ll explore why the biggest challenge is no longer collecting data, but closing the final gap between information and action—and how Decision Intelligence is redefining the future of enterprise software.
