About Jim
Jim started his career at IBM with mainframe and mid-range implementations in the APAC region before moving to Electronic Data Systems for AS400 based financial and manufacturing total systems solution implementations. Jim then switched career paths to business with a move to KPMG UK working in business development, strategy, and sell-side M&A consulting. With this dual-career blend, Jim was given an opportunity to join Toshiba–Tokyo leading the Hi-Tech center of excellence in East Europe and Middle East. After Toshiba, Jim joined 3M-UK to head East European and Middle East IT operations based out of Dubai, UAE. After 5 International assignments leading various technical operations, he was assigned to the 3M Head Quarters in St. Paul, MN as Master Black Belt (MBB) for Corporate Strategy, M&A and eBusiness. Jim’s MBB re-entry was in business development as the leader of 3M’s Emerging Business Opportunities where he led 5 business startups and successfully implemented them. Jim was assigned to several other assignments while at 3M in Corporate Development, Electronics Business strategy, ERP Strategy, Intelligent Transportation strategy, Acquisition Integrations and Supply Chain Strategy. Jim’s last assignment at 3M was Global Leader for 3M’s Digitalization and Advanced Analytics initiative for both Supply Chain and Manufacturing where he led the implementation of 12 flagship solutions delivering significant results in automation, digitalization and Digital Twin advanced analytics which greatly enhanced 3M operations effectiveness.
Jim received his B.S. in Micro Electronics and Computer Science from University of California and an Executive MBA in business from London Business School. In addition, Jim has specialization in eBusiness from Harvard University, telecommunications from City and Guilds of London, and ULSI Technology with Toshiba and Electronic Data Systems. Jim enjoys Rugby, American Football, Cricket, and the outdoors.
