About Jill
Jill Hosmer Jolley is a business faculty member, researcher, and consultant working at the intersection of human-centered AI, organizational ethics, and the future of work. She believes technology should serve people—not the other way around—and has built her academic and consulting practice around helping leaders, educators, and students make AI decisions that are principled, practical, and genuinely good for the humans involved.
Jill currently teaches MBA students at Rice University's Jones Graduate School of Business, focusing on non-authoritative power and influence; at California State University, Monterey Bay, where she emphasizes responsible leadership, AI literacy, and social venture formation; and formerly at Yale Executive Education, where she presented a Human Capital Strategy course. As Principal Investigator on a CSU AI Educational Innovations Challenge grant, she is building open-access curriculum that fosters critical thinking and ethical AI literacy across disciplines—work grounded in her Human-Centered AI Culture and Integration Competency (HC-AIC) framework, which reframes AI adoption as a question of organizational moral infrastructure rather than technical capability.
Her research also explores the rise of B Corps benefiting society, and she regularly speaks to companies about revenue generating social venture ideas to benefit society without requiring charitable donations. Jill is also passionate about neurodiversity-informed approaches to innovation and employee development.
Jill began her career in banking and spent fifteen years at Charles Schwab, most recently as Northeast Regional Director, before moving into construction management, consulting and higher education. She earned her MBA at Simmons University in 1998, and her PhD from National University in 2018, with a dissertation documenting successful workplace practices supporting neurodiverse employees.
Today, Jill continues researching both AI decision making relative to integration and employee management as well as neurodiversity and management theory. Her AI work centers on helping students and faculty use AI to improve educational and employment outcomes—especially for people too often left out of the design conversation. In her spare time, she fosters Labrador retrievers and travels North America with her husband, who works in the entertainment industry. She is a proud mother of 3 successful adults!
