Gregory E. Triplett Jr., Ph.D., is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Dean of the School of Science and Engineering at Saint Louis University, where he leads academic programs and research initiatives across engineering, computer science, aviation, geospatial science, and the physical sciences. As a higher education leader, he is focused on preparing students and institutions for a future increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

Dr. Triplett has secured more nearly $20 million in external funding throughout his career and has led initiatives that connect research, industry partnerships, workforce development, and student success. Under his leadership, Saint Louis University has expanded efforts in artificial intelligence, geospatial analytics, advanced manufacturing, and human-centered technology, while exploring the responsible integration of AI into teaching, research, and university operations.

A frequent speaker on innovation and technology-enabled transformation, Dr. Triplett advocates for a balanced approach to AI adoption—one that embraces new opportunities while maintaining a commitment to ethics, equity, critical thinking, and human development. His current work focuses on AI governance, workforce readiness, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the role of higher education in preparing graduates to thrive in an AI-driven economy.

Dr. Triplett currently serves as Chair of the Engineering Deans Council Data Committee of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), helping to shape national conversations on data, analytics, and the future of STEM education.
