Gio serves as Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer at CBI, a Dubai based bank. he oversees a broad portfolio of Strategy, Transformation, Business Intelligence, Innovation & Sustainability. His role included the scope of Chief AI Officer for the bank. Gio founded CBIx, a subsidiary of the bank that includes its Corporate VC and the bank's Innovation Lab which builds uses cases for fintech, AI, and Web3.

His work helped the Bank win multiple innovation awards, including the Forbes Best Banks list for 2026

Gio serves as a Board Director for Zypl, a series-A synthetic data & AI startup, serves on the advisory board for Luna PR, the AI advisory board for the UAE's United Banking Federation and is a steering board member for Tumar, a national AI & innovation venture fund between The World Bank and Government of Kazakhstan. Lastly, he serves as special advisor on AI to th National AI Council of Tajikistan, and was part of a UN working group supporting the draft of a UN resolution on regional collaboration in AI development and governance.
