About George
Dr. George Antoniou is a Full Professor of Cybersecurity Management and Cybersecurity Program Coordinator at Lynn University's College of Business and Management. A Fulbright U.S. Scholar, Fulbright Specialist, and Fulbright Alumni Ambassador, he brings more than 30 years of experience spanning industry and academia. He has held senior leadership roles in security operations, risk management, compliance, and digital transformation while teaching and conducting research in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, governance, and digital forensics.
During his 2025 Fulbright residency at the University of Tirana, Albania, he designed an AI and Ethics course, contributed to the development of a Bologna-aligned Master of Science in Cybersecurity curriculum that has since received formal program approval, and helped establish an ongoing Memorandum of Understanding between Lynn University and the University of Tirana. His broader Fulbright work also includes a Fulbright Specialist award in Paraguay. His international work includes faculty development, curriculum design, and collaboration with academic, government, and industry partners to strengthen cybersecurity and AI education.
His research focuses on AI governance, institutional AI readiness, cybersecurity education, workforce preparedness, and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence. By combining executive leadership experience with academic research, he develops practical frameworks that help organizations move beyond AI experimentation toward sustainable, secure, and well-governed AI adoption.
As Co-Founder and CEO of Cyber Aliens LLC, Dr. Antoniou is an inventor on multiple U.S. patents, including U.S. Patent No. 10,673,617 B1. He also develops and deploys AI-assisted educational technologies, including an AI-powered tutoring agent and interactive cybersecurity learning environments that enhance student engagement while promoting responsible and ethical AI use.
An IEEE Senior Member, Dr. Antoniou has authored peer-reviewed publications, presented at national and international conferences, and advanced cybersecurity and AI education through research, curriculum development, professional service, and cross-border collaboration. His work bridges academia, industry, and government to address emerging challenges in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, governance, and workforce development.
His work has contributed to approved cybersecurity curricula, institutional AI governance initiatives, and international academic partnerships that help prepare organizations and the future workforce for the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.
At the AI4 Applied AI Research Conference, Dr. Antoniou presents "From AI Adoption to AI Readiness: A Fulbright-Informed Framework for Governance, Ethics, and Workforce Preparedness." Drawing on his Fulbright experience and international collaborations, he demonstrates how organizations can assess AI readiness, strengthen governance and ethical decision-making, develop workforce capabilities, and build practical strategies for implementing AI responsibly, securely, and effectively.
