Eric Feng is the SVP and GM of Yahoo Research Group, leading Yahoo’s work in evolving search products and building next-generation, AI-driven experiences across Yahoo’s portfolio. He is the creator of Yahoo Scout, Yahoo’s new AI answer engine and Intelligence Platform. Prior to joining Yahoo, Eric was the founder and CEO of Cymbal, an AI startup acquired by Yahoo in 2025. Earlier in his career, Eric was the founding CTO of Hulu, a General Partner at Kleiner Perkins, and worked on the Microsoft Research team that developed Microsoft’s Bing. He has spent his career at the intersection of search, media, and artificial intelligence, building products that help people find trusted information and get meaningful answers, not just links. Throughout his work, Eric has focused on advancing conversational search, large-scale information systems, and responsible AI.
