Doron Portnoy is a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Zoox, serving as Technical Lead of the Offline Driving Intelligence team. With over 17 years of industry experience in computer vision, deep learning, and software engineering, he specializes in the design and development of end-to-end driving architectures for both offboard and onboard applications, as well as automated data scaling strategies. During his tenure at General Motors, he served as the technical lead for end-to-end perception architecture and spearheaded automated data scaling and data generation initiatives to significantly increase perception robustness.

Today at Zoox, his work centers on leveraging multi-modal foundation models and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) architectures to enhance spatial understanding and driving in long-tail scenarios within complex urban environments.
