About David
David Hallac is the Founder and CEO of Viaduct, an AI-powered manufacturing intelligence platform that helps discrete manufacturers improve production throughput, reduce warranty costs, and improve quality through advanced analytics on connected asset data. In 2025, Viaduct became part of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, a move that has strengthened Viaduct's resources and global reach while David continues to lead the company's strategy and product direction.
David's background is in Electrical Engineering, where he focused on large-scale optimization for time series sensor data coming from cars, airplanes, and other large machines. His Ph.D. research involved developing mathematical models for finding patterns in complex data and implementing these methods in high-performance solvers that were directly used by Fortune 500 companies across various IoT verticals.
At Viaduct, David continues to develop new methods for analyzing connected asset data, with applications spanning predictive equipment maintenance, quality monitoring, and asset safety. He received his B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University, both in Electrical Engineering.
