About David
David Chun is a senior higher education technology executive with extensive experience in enterprise IT strategy, digital transformation, data modernization, and artificial intelligence. He has served in CIO leadership roles at Montclair State University, Sonoma State University, Hamline University, and the University of Miami Herbert Business School. Across these institutions, he led university-wide technology strategy, Workday modernization, generative AI initiatives, data and analytics, and digital equity programs. At the University of Miami, he also served as a faculty member and Distinguished Engineer-in-Residence, teaching business technology, innovation, and emerging technologies. His career also includes senior technology roles at SunGard Data Systems, now FIS, and Benihana, with responsibilities spanning the United States, Japan, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. Chun holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Georgia Institute of Technology, completed executive education at Stanford and Oxford, and is a doctoral candidate at Columbia University. He enjoys Big Band jazz and spends time with his wife, a Project Management Professor, their rescue Shiba Inus, and their son, a Naval Aviator from the United States Naval Academy.
