Cole Robert DeVingo is a synthetic data engineer, currently serving as a Synthetic Data Specialist at Toyota Research Institute, with prior experience at iRobot. He designs and builds end-to-end synthetic data pipelines using Python, Blender, Unreal Engine, and C++ to generate large-scale, high-fidelity training data for computer vision and robotics applications. His work has included procedural 3D floor plan generation, stereo correspondence datasets, defect detection systems, OCR and object detection pipelines, automated annotation backends, and simulation environments for validation and QA. Across both robotics and industrial AI settings, he has focused on scalable data generation, automated labeling, infrastructure development, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve model performance and accelerate deployment.
