Agam Upadhyay is Senior Vice President and Chief Digital and Information Officer at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where he sets strategic direction across digital, technology and AI to drive the company's growth. He leads the full technology landscape across all global business domains, including R&D, Commercial, Supply Chain and Manufacturing, and General and Administrative functions. Agam joined Vertex from GSK, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, leading enterprise-wide digital and technology transformation. He built a modern AI-enabled data platform, advanced cloud adoption, scaled automation (including GenAI), strengthened cybersecurity, and drove operational excellence and cost optimization. He also led major initiatives spanning M&A integration, consumer healthcare separation, and enterprise platform modernization. Previously, Agam was Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Eli Lilly, where he guided global technology strategy, digital transformation, and enterprise data and cloud initiatives. Earlier, at Johnson & Johnson, he held senior technology leadership roles across infrastructure, platforms, and business functions, contributing to cloud strategy, manufacturing platform integration, and enterprise data capabilities.

Agam began his career in financial services, holding technology leadership roles at Bank of New York Mellon and Ernst & Young, managing large, complex global programs.

Agam serves on the board of directors for a startup and participates in multiple industry leadership councils and advisory boards.
