OneNine | Building the AI Data Infrastructure for Low Resource Languages
About this session
Here is a challenge that most AI builders still overlook: today’s AI understands only about 100 languages, yet the world speaks nearly 7,000. This gap leaves more than four billion people unheard and unserved by systems that claim to understand humanity. In this talk I will explain why inclusive language data infrastructure matters, what foundational shifts are required, and how OneNine is building the pipelines, processes, and quality frameworks to fix it. I will illustrate real examples of production-ready datasets, share lessons from global linguist networks, and show how this work powers better models and broader access. Attendees will leave with practical insights into scaling multilingual data for real AI products and why inclusive data is central to the next phase of AI impact. This talk is for anyone who builds, leads, or deploys AI systems that must serve everyone; not just the few. Join the OneNine movement to expand the foundational data layer of AI.
